Istanbul enjoys a mild Mediterranean climate and is a pleasant city to visit at any time of the year. The weather is warm from June to September, the hottest months being July and August with temperatures climbing to 30ºC and even reaching 40º in the month of August. Winters are mild with temperatures between 5ºC and 15ºC, but can also fall to 0ºC in the coldest months which are usually January and February. The rainy season is in the Spring, mainly in March and April and also in Autumn, which falls in September and October. Being a Mediterranean climate, the rain does not tend to last for long periods, so that even on a day of squalls, generally the city can still be enjoyed. Istanbul is always a pleasant city to visit!
