The Hotel Azdeniz stands on a pedestrians-only street right next door to the Sultanahmet stop on the Tramway. There are 4 floors of accommodation with 3 rooms on each floor - 2 rooms looking over the side street on which the hotel is situated and 1 giving onto a narrow shaft at the back. The top-floor front rooms (401, 402) have magnificent views over Agia Sofia and Blue Mosque; the third-floor front rooms (301,302) have a pleasant view over the minarets of Agia Sofia and Blue Mosque; the front rooms on the second and first floors (201,202,101 102) look down on the restaurants which are perhaps all too quiet for the proprietors but are great neighbours for sleeping next to. There is no lift so all other things being equal how high you want to climb governs your choice of room. I would not personally willingly choose a back room. All the rooms are adequately equipped - not luxurious but then you are not paying luxury prices. Our experience, admittedly limited to one other hotel, is that Turkish hotels only supply one sheet per bed, I suppose we could have asked for another but having brought sheet sleeping bags did not think to do so. We stayed in late May and so had no occasion to test the air conditioning. The staff were efficient, welcoming and at all times pleasant. The rooms were clean and free Wifi access was available. I'm not sure about breakfast. It was included in the price on the website, but the booking form I downloaded made no mention of it. At any rate there seemed no question of it for the first three days of our 6-day stay and when it was proposed we had already become addicted to the cafe opposite the hotel's front door. None of the other guests appeared to expect to eat in. We greatly enjoyed our stayTranslate this guest review
Die Lage des Hotels ist hervorragend. Allerdings gab es keinen Frühstücksraum. Auf unsere Intervention erhielten wir das Frühstück (hervorragend) in einem benachbarten Kaffee.Translate this guest review

I thought the staff were very friendly and helpful, as well as being well informed. Translate this guest review
